Our goal is simple - to make incredible ice cream and to have fun doing it.
Sweet Rock Ice Cream is the creation of Sarah and Adam Rochacewich - two CFAs from Ontario who migrated to Newfoundland in 2012 to enjoy everything Newfoundland has to offer and start the adventure of owning and running their own business. In 2012 Aunt Sarah's Chocolate Shop in Trinity was born. In 2016 the two chocolatiers were looking to expand and decided to give ice cream making a run. Sweet Rock has come a long way in just 3 years. Both Sarah and Adam completed the Ice Cream Technology Short Course at the University of Guelph and the ice cream itself continues to evolve. New flavours are introduced almost daily. Sweet Rock now has 2 ice cream shops and can be found in cafes, restaurants, bakeries and grocery stores across the island. Although we've grown a lot since we started, our goal remains the same - to make incredible ice cream and have fun doing it. Our artisanal ice cream is still made in small batches, from scratch with a focus on local ingredients.
Making and eating ice cream is only part of what we do at Sweet Rock. Ice cream means summer and summer means fun! Here is a sample of what we're up to on top of making incredible ice cream:
